Our nerve system controls and coordinates all functions of your body and is made up of two parts: the sympathetic and parasympathetic response. When we endure a physical, emotional, or chemical stress it impacts those nerve signals. Every nerve in your body is connected through the spinal column up to your brain stem.

Any moment of which you experience the physiological “fight or flight” of your nervous system, your body experiences stress. This can be as simple as “I have too…” Stress hormones are mobilized and released in the body. If we are not releasing stress hormones then they are stored and can create dis-ease in the body. Your child can experience the release of stress hormones throughout the day. Sitting for prolonged periods at a time, a busy schedule, struggling emotionally, etc. If they are in constant “fight or flight” (or sympathetic dominance) then their “rest & digest” response (parasympathetic nervous system) is turned off.

Your parasympathetic nervous system response is when your body heals. It is an incredibly important function to our bodies health.

These two systems need to work in tandem to bring homeostasis in the body. Disconnect happens when you do not allow for the parasympathetic to balance our sympathetic stress response. Chiropractors help stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system so your body can heal itself, quicker and better!

Be proactive with your children’s overall health and wellbeing. It is easier to help nurture a healthy spine and nervous system as it develops than “repair” one many years into adulthood. Dr. Aaron has additional training with the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association. He loves to help educate patients to be their healthiest self. Our office welcomes children of all ages. We have a room for parents to change diapers or to breastfeed, and awesome toys and learning books in the waiting area.

Our staff strive to make the office an enjoyable experience for children and warmly welcome them with a treat, sticker, or balloon at their visit if mom or dad agree first! If you’re child is uneasy, please call us and we will work with you on how to make it a great experience for them.
